Apparently October is DeviantART self promotion month so I picked this up from HeroOrMonster and decided to do it... now I know Oct is almost over but Id been busy lately so I couldn't get around to it.

Ordinary person with a passion for music and visual arts. Stay in Chennai although I will be moving back to Dubai in the next two months.
The name MetallumJazz as in I love Metal and Jazz ... dont ask I just felt like it.
Im still trying to find my own style as an artist but Im sure Ill get there soon enough.

My Artistic Passion

I cant pick one... but if I had to narrow it down... it'd be music and drawing definitely. Other passions include writing, digi coloring and lying under the Air Conditioner...


Origin Of My Interest In Art

I've been drawing since I was 4 or something... my first "true" drawing as per I remember is a stick figure drawing of the Bat Jet I saw in the 89 Batman flick. My dad encouraged me to go ahead with art and I did... although eventually by 6 I wanted to be an actor... well gimme me a break I was really young and all I wanted was a shit load of money to buy Batman toys
Anywho by 8 it was drawing again... ever since then drawing has been an ongoing, wonderful, bizarre, strange, sad, joyful and interesting experience for me.


Source Of Inspiration

Like most artists (if not all) I can get inspired by anything. When I was younger I was mostly inspired by Videogames and Comics. But what really openened my eyes to so much inspiring material was this website [link]
Brilliant website... its a must check for Fighting game buffs and anime/concept/digital art buffs alike. Its run by just one dude and has probably the biggest collection of artwork for characters Ive ever seen.
Of late though my biggest source of inspiration has always been music. The atmosphere, vibe and imagery that a song can project really does go a long way in helping my creativity.
I think its only fair that I note down some of the artists that inspire me so much: Atheist, Cynic, Augury, King Crimson, Meshuggah, Kyuss, Church Of Misery, Allan Holdsworth, Yoshida Brothers, Namco Sound Team, Lee Morgan, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Nujabes, Hank Mobley, Clifford Brown, Django Reinhardt etc.
There's so much more but I think these are some of the more important ones... I might've left others out but still...
